How can I care for my purchase?
Most of our knives come factory sharp, meaning that they will need to be sharpened if you intend to use them for a purpose that requires a sharper blade.
Our resin handles are cast and then carved to completion by hand, making each handle completely unique, and should be treated with care accordingly. Resin handles can be washed with mild soap and gently wiped dry. Factory cold cast handles may be lightly polished with a cloth.
Dry the blade thoroughly with a cloth immediately after washing to prevent rust. Handles with silk ribbon should not be washed. Do not use abrasive surfaces on your knife handle, or use the end of the handle to apply blunt force; the handle is not designed to function as a separate tool. Keep handles away from excessive heat and food as they are not certified food-safe.
Why are the white bladed pieces less sharp than others?
All white bladed options come coated in material intended for coloring firearms. This is a very durable substance, able to withstand the rough usage and high heat temperatures semi-automatic/automatic weapons endure. It does however, dull the tip and blade edge. The buyer may have it professionally sharpened should they desire. Rozliubit is not able to offer that service at this time as we do not have the proper equipment, unfortunately).
Where does the name “Rozliubit” come from?
We arrived at “Rozliubit” through researching the origins of the term razbluito, which supposedly describes “the feeling you have for someone you once loved but no longer do” in Russian. We discovered that razliubit is the true articulation in Russian, used to convey the act of “falling out of love,” or “to unlove.”
“Rozliubit“ is a play on “rose” combined with our preference towards the action-driven translation of razliubit over the mistranslation of a passive sentiment.
